About Us
A West Frankfort favorite since 1955
Our Story
Dixie Cream Donuts & Deli began in 1955 when founder
Gene Forgatch opened a small donut shop in West Frankfort, Illinois. Through early mornings, hard work, and friendly service, he built a neighborhood spot people could count on for something warm and made fresh.
Still Family Operated
Today the Forgatch family carries on Gene’s tradition.
- Steve Forgatch serves as general manager
- Todd Forgatch leads production in the bakery
- Jay Forgatch oversees routes and purchasing
Together they keep the ovens hot, the cases full, and the service friendly.
Growing with the Community
In 2004 we moved into a new building and expanded with the Metro Deli. Sandwiches are toasted to order and sliced in-house with meats and cheeses that are minimally processed and contain no preservatives. Choose 5", 8", or 12" sizes and round out your meal with a side salad or one of our full-size salads like Mediterranean or Grilled Chicken.
Customer favorites include the
Turkey Bacon Club,
Italian Beef, and classic
Bacon Club.

Fresh Every Morning
Our bakery team starts before dawn to make yeast and cake donuts, fritters, and pastries. Items are made fresh daily and may sell out. Call ahead for large orders and events.
What We Believe
